Mayor Carol Graham Lewis Joseph
My name is Carol Graham Lewis Joseph. I am originally from Wolfe County. My parents are Andy and Mary Graham. I first came to Hyden when I met my husband. Subsequently, I went back to college and majored in education and taught in Leslie County for fifteen years. I then taught for twelve years in Wolfe County until I retired. I currently reside in Hyden with my husband, William Peyton Joseph. We have two daughters, Danielle and Fran Lewis, and one granddaughter, Micah Maggard. I am proud to call Hyden my home and I am looking forward to serving the people of Hyden.
As City Clerk for the City of Hyden, I would like to introduce myself. I was born at home and delivered by a Mary Breckinridge Midwife named Carolyn Banghart in 1963. My parents are Bill and Joann Johnson. I have one brother, David, and one sister, Polly. I graduated from Leslie County High School in 1981. Jeff and I have been married for 20 years. We have one daughter, Tessa, and three sons, Justin, Jeffrey, and Zack. I also have four wonderful granddaughters, Hallie Anna Rose, Navaeh Ashlyn, Makena Brooke and Baylie Olivia and one wonderful grandson Zachary. Our home is located on Bakerfork. I worked at Mary Breckinridge Hospital for 6 years. I have been Clerk for the City of Hyden since July 2007. I am very appreciative to Mayor Joseph and the City Council for allowing me to serve as City Clerk. It has been very gratifying to serve with such an impressive Mayor and Council that work so endlessly to improve the City of Hyden.
